Cha cha cha Chia~ its Friday!

Anyone ever seen those chia pet commercials? lol turns out those seeds are really healthy to eat too, not just grow grass on pets.

Breakfast today was a lot of fun, like a highschool science experiment but then y0u eat it in the end! I soaked 2x tbs chia seeds in 6x tbs almond milk with some stevia, salt, and cinnamon. Then in another bowl I mixed up 3/4 cup Trader Joe's 0% greek yogurt with more stevia and 1/2 a scoop of chocolate whey. After the seeds soaked for 1/2 hour, it really did turn jellylike! I was stoked, and mixed the 2 bowels toghether then topped it with more cinnamon and let it hang tight for another 5 min. the end results?

It really tasted like chocolate flavored tapioca pudding .>

end of day 4

day 4 of the cut has ended, 800 calories. $4 in the splurge account~ man the workouts today were intense. No pictures today :(
started off the morning with a egg beater and spinach scramble + cheese and coffee. Rushed off to class that I was running late to already(eep) and ended up just catching the professor before she leaves... crap, I'm so irresponsible :( at least I packed a bunch of food to eat during the day! I then hung around campus and read the new issue of Health magazine and munched on a repeat of yesterday's light quesadilla brought in a cute Bento box~ thats right I said cute, and you would agree had I taken a picture! lol. I headed off to DBG and spent 20 min on the bike, did chest shoulders and abs again, then weighed myself. The weight loss is headed in the right direction ;) no numbers yet. I then had a HUGE salad, which was completely vegan, without me having realized it at first. It was good, but I think I got weird stares in the cafeteria eating a ginormous salad in a ginourmous toppoware container... Oh well c'est la vie. Cheer today was HARD. and I repeat hard! when we were running through the routine I thought I was going to give out at somepoints. Definately 2 good workouts today. Afterwards I had half scoop of strawberry whey + 1/2 cup skim milk and decaff coffee.
PS: I bought chia seeds today :) excited to try out this chia pudding that seems all the rage. night! going to go conk out for a good 10 hours.

cut day 3 end

End of cut day 3! 800 calories, means there is now $3 in my splurge account.
That right there, was dinner, and it was orgasmic. Ok maybe not orgasmic, but tasted damn good none the less. The mahi mahi burger from whole foods did not disappoint~ can't decide between whether this one is better or if the salmon burgers are. Basic mix of greens and addins topped with the crumbled burger. Hummus dressing makes any salad more grourmet... especially if you sprinkle it on and make it look pretty~ just fooling myself here. But the recipe is really simple. 2 tbs hummus mixed with 1 tbs apple cider vinegar, and I like to add a dash of tobasco for some spice. Off to watch the last episode of Honey&Clover(sadness, need to find more episodes) and call it a night!

Light and green~

Green smoothie morning! 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 cup almond milk, 1 tsp spirulina, 1 scoop amazing grass, 1/2 scoop chocolate whey, spinach, cinnamon, stevia, and 7 ice cubes. Tasted just like it looked... green!

After the smoothie I got to cleaning the appartment since my brother will be returning home tomorrow evening. I always dread cleaning... but really once you get started it isn't bad at all! I always feel this way, maybe I should learn to stop procrastinating and just get it done from now on :X.

For lunch I made a light quesadilla with 2 reduced carb tortillas from trader joe's and a skinny cow wedge with 1 tbs hummus. 150 calories(12g protein) of deliciousness. Lots of fiber and fats to keep it even more filling too. Enjoyed with some green+peppermint tea(love this combo).
For dinner I'm planning a huge salad with... a mahi mahi burger that I bought yesterday from whole foods! Can't wait~ off to do some calisthetics and watch more Honey&Clover. I love this series.

2nd day of diet

2nd day of my cut went pretty smooth~ means there is now $2 in my splurge account! can't wait to see how much I can accumulate before dropping off my motivational train. Total calories for today was about only 800. So it was on the low end, as long as i can control the hunger I hope to hit 800 cal most of the time. As for excercise, we had cheer/dance choreography today for an hour and a half after which I went to the gym and did chest(including a crap ton of push-ups), jumps, and finished with cardio; which consisted of 20 min on the bike and 10 min on the treadmill. One noteworthy eat today was an "apple pie" parfait for dinner!

This was 1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1/2 cup cottage cheese(0%) with a packet of stevia and apple pie spice mixed toghether and then topped with half a cliff kids Z bar(apple flavored) crumbled on top with more cinnamon. Enjoyed with a tall glass of peppermint tea :)

Green smoothie for breakfast tomorrow! Can't wait~

6 week plan revamp~

I guess I wanted to revamp the weight loss plan I was doing. Definately don't want to go back to my crazy anorexic ways... But so heres the new plan. For food I'm going to cycle between 800-1200 calories a day based on how active I am that day while trying to keep my daily protein intake at least around 125g(about .8g per lb of my LBM). Not going to be afraid of fats or carbs this time and let's see what happens... For excercise I plan on hitting the weights at least 3 times, and including cheer practice for cardio/light resistance training for the first 2 weeks and gradually adding in cardio after that. Can't risk burning too much calories and not saving enough to last through cheer/dance practice(it's a work out).

Anorexic cut

A few circumstances in my life have made me decide to go on an anorexic cut for the next few weeks. what does this embody? 500-800 calories a day with around 100-125g protein a day along with all the normal excersise and activities that I take part of. the only time this may change is the day before the CUNYac cheer competition I might eat a day of maintenance to perform better. Today has started with a cookie dough balance bar and black coffee. Lets see how long I can go for and how much weight I can loose while keeping muscle defenition!

Monsieur patissier

Cheerleaders eat. and In the case of my cheer/dance team, we eat A LOT. we're not one of those anorexic skeezy pom-pom squads that sleeps with all the other sports teams(though they're fabulous in a whole different way). Don't get me wrong though, the majority of the team are still the typical skinny chicks with tude's you expect on cheerleading teams. Anyways, to power the team through our sunday workout, and lets face it, if you've been on a sports team weekend practices especially on the second day usually results in lowered motivation, I baked blackbean brownies for the girls(+ me and my bromo on the team).

when I served it to them it didn't look quite so pretty. I often use the team to test recipes and the verdict? Good, chocolatey, but one of the girls thought it was kinda dry. It turned out really cakey, which was unexpected, I was expecting a more thick texture but the egg whites and baking soda in it really fluffed it up! Next time I think I'll throw a mashed nanners into the mix with some protein powder to add more volume and balance out the carb/protein ratio to more of my liking(I like 40/40/20 usually at most meals.

Overall this weekend was quite successful I would say, the team is really pulling through for our competition in 2 and a half weeks... 2 AND A HALF WEEKS! OH EM GEE. I also discovered truly how much I don't enjoy accounting, sorry accounting majors... I just dont enjoy the formulas and numbers, but if you do, more power to ya. Also met a really cute boy, down side is he's younger than me. Anywho, workout tomorrow morning after accounting(barf) recitation(double barf). Can't wait to get ripped a new one by the trainer. Night, hope you all had a nice weekend :)

Cheer on ma mind

Cheer/dance is an addiction... I swear during competition I spend more time at practices than I do at home and more time thinking about our routine/stunts than schoolwork lol. Got practice all day today~ and headed to see CSI perform at their game later too. Can't wait, they're definately a big competitior in the CUNY competition and will be great knowing what kind of stuff they'll be incorporating into their routine.
I woke up at 7:30 craving oats like mad, so thats what I made for breakfast <3
I cooked up 1/4 cup of TJ's steel cut oatmeal on the stove and fluffed it up with about 1/2 cup of egg whites. Then I stirred in some turkey bacon and topped it all off with a diced up string cheese and generous Drizzles(plural) of TOBASCO.
Tasted like cheesey grits if you've ever had those hehe. It was enjoyed with a cup of dark coffee to get wired for practice in an hour... speaking of which gotta jet. Au revoir! Have a nice Saturday :)

Trying to keep up~

Dam, so bad at this blogging business. Didn't take any pictures today but I guess a quick recap would work :P Was at school all day, and since cheer/dance was cancelled for this afternoon I decided to hit up the fab DBG for a quickie workout... by quickie I mean roughly an hour and a half. Warmed up with 20 min on the bike, then did chest and shoulders and finished with 22 minutes on the elliptical. Was a good workout, made me realize how much I missed hitting the weights and the "pumped" feeling and look you get right after a heavy lifting workout(if you lift too you know what I mean!). Nothing special in the food department today, and I was planning to make blackbean brownies for the team tomorrow... but the 6 train was a nightmare tonight. So that plan was spoiled : / sorry girls, maybe sometime this weekend! Pain & Pleasure and cheer/dance tomorrow :) got some good workouts lined up! can't wait~ toodles. Gotta remember to buy my expensive ass books for class tomorrow too. On the bright side~ new men's and women's health issues! Time to reread the same info with different models. lol

Shaking it up on Humpday

I have been getting really odd cravings for Green Monsters ever since I read about them(even before I ever made em) and this past week that craving has been getting progressively worse! But the weather had too... which sucks because the crazy groundhog decided to give us 6 more weeks of winter as of yesterday(jerk!) jk haha. Crazy NYC weather. So since I don't have class on wednesdays and I woke up too late to make it to my workout on time(sorry DBG I'll hit you up tomorrow!) I decided it was a good day to quash this craving. My mom(yeah yeah momma's boy here) sent me a vita-mix, and I am in love with this thing.
Heres the picture of the lovely green monster... Lol in a chinese takeout soup container and drank with a stolen Dunkin' donut's straw. Classy! the igredient list for this was almost as scary as that scary green color.
-1 scoop amazing grass
-1/2 cup almond milk
-1/2 cup hemp milk
-1/2 scoop chocolate whey
-1/2 cup greek yogurt
-2 handfuls spinach
-1 tsp spirulina
-1 tsp cocoa powder
-stevia
-cinnamon
I blended all these up first till it turned into a hotmix in the vitamix then chucked in 6 icecubes to boost volume and give it the shakey consistency. Trust me this tastes more like chocolate than... well green? lol. Since its too late to hit the gym to recover in time for dance/cheer practice tonight I think I'm going to be paying some bills and doing light calesthetics intervals. ciao~ have a nice hump day!
